A Warm Welcome to New Member of the Institute Council

Dr. Chiu is the Principal of Pui Kiu Middle School and the Chairman of Hong Kong Direct Subsidy Scheme Schools Council.  He has been awarded doctorate degrees from Chu Hai College of Higher Education and The University of Hong Kong respectively.

 

In addition to promoting education, Dr. Chiu is dedicated to literature and academic research.  Dr. Chiu writes poems and has authored a number of articles and books on Chinese classic literatures; including《明初對安南之經略及棄守》、《劉勰文心雕龍詩論之研究》、《風蔚樓叢稿》

 

Dr. Poon is an Associate Consultant and Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor of Queen Mary Hospital and The University of Hong Kong.  She has been actively involved in the establishment of the metabolic service in Queen Mary Hospital since 2002; and that the paediatric metabolic service was awarded an Outstanding Team of the Hospital Authority Hong Kong West Cluster in 2008.

 

Dr. Poon is active in professional service.  She is a member of various professional bodies, including Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food, Food and Health Bureau; Steering Committee on Child Development Fund, Labour and Welfare Bureau; and Health Advisory Committee, Mother’s Choice, Hong Kong.

 

Ms. Ling is a retired assurance partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers.  She is a member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Professional Accountants (Canada), and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants; and also a council member of The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups; an executive committee member of Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association; a member of Hospital Governing Committee; and a member of Governance Review Sub-committee of two Direct Subsidy Scheme schools.

 

Ms. Ling has served on various committees of HKICPA in relation to standard setting, student development and community services, and was selected as a HKICPA Outstanding Accountant Ambassador.
